Title of Talk: The Oceanic Art of Spoken Word: Influences of Black North American
Western's EDI Office and the Faculty of Arts & Humanities are pleased to invite Andrea Thompson to offer a poetry performance and artist talk.
Andrea Thompson offering a poetry performance and artist talk that investigates the concept of spoken word as an oceanic art form fed by a variety of creative and cultural streams, with a specific focus on the influence of Black North American history, art and culture.
The performances will be selected works from her recent poetry collection, A Selected History of Soul Speak.
