Headshot of Dr. Greg Thorn

Friends of the Gardens (FOGs) will be hosting a walk guided by Dr. Greg Thorn, Ben and Sam showing us native species for pollinators at Brescia's meadow. If you are interested in learning about native species and would like to participate in collecting seeds for our Western Pollinator Garden, please join us on September 16, 2022.

Dr. Greg Thorn is a professor in the Department of Biology at Western and has been studying fungi for over 30 years. Many fungi develop relationships with plants, and so has Greg! In addition to fungi, he also has a strong interest in plants and is the curator of the Dr. Laurie L. Consaul Herbarium at Western University, a collection of over 40,000 specimens of vascular plants representing plant biodiversity in southwestern Ontario. Greg has spent most of his career in London and has immense knowledge of native flora in the area, including the native pollinator plants in our pollinator garden.
