SYS Applications OPEN

Seed Your Startup is designed to help young entrepreneurs make the transition from ideas to formalized action plans, with the opportunity to win funding. Each April, student entrepreneurs from Western University and Fanshawe College are invited to pitch their business ideas for a chance to win $3,000.

How does the competition work?

All current students from Western University and Fanshawe College are invited to apply for the competition by submitting their business idea and application.  Propel and LEAP Junction work with a review committee to screen the applications based on the quality of the idea and the ability to move the business forward.   Selected finalists are invited to pitch on Thursday, April 4, 2019 to a panel of judges. The winning ideas receive a cash prize, as well as access to mentorship, media exposure, and professional services, provided by Propel and LEAP Junction.

Prizes Two Categories:

(1) Retail / Product Prize (non-software based startups) and (2) Technology / Service Prize (software based startups)

A winner from each category receives $3000 cash, legal services from the Berger Law Firm, a 1 year commercial bank account at Libro Credit Union, the opportunity to sell product for 1 year in The Book Store at Western, access to mentorship, media exposure and more!
