The Animal Studies Research Group and the Department of English and Writing Studies welcome you to a guest lecture by Dr. Harriet Ritvo.
Arthur J. Conner Professor of History at MIT, Dr. Harriet Ritvo is the author of several books, notably The Animal Estate: The English and Other Creatures in the Victorian Age (1987) and Noble Cows and Hybrid Zebras: Essays on Animals and History (2010). Previously holding fellowships at the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National Humanities Center, she is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
