Versions of Memory …some stories that got me here.
Presented by Kate Hennig (with guest Tim Campbell)

Recollection shifts with time. It’s part of the ever-changing shape of our past, and how we bring insight to our present and future. Work in the theatre is very much in the present: it is ephemeral by nature, and when the play is over we are left with only versions of its memory. Multi-award winning actor, playwright, director and teaching artist, Kate Hennig, will share with you some memories — both recorded and recollected — from some of the hundreds of shows in which she has performed, then read — with fellow actor Tim Campbell — some scenes from her Queenmaker series of plays, and from the first draft of her latest play, Sex in the ‘80s: a play about versions of memory.

Kate is an actor, playwright, teaching artist, and director. Kate has played Stratford, Shaw, Broadway, the RSC, the NAC, Nightwood, Nightswimming, Summerworks, Soulpepper, Canadian Stage, and more. Kate was the 2015 recipient of the Christopher Plummer Foundation Award for Excellence in Classical Theatre. Other accolades include the Carol Bolt Award, two Dora Awards, three Betty Mitchell awards, a Toronto Theatre Critics’ Award, a Genie nomination, and making the short-list for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama.

Kate was the Director of Artist Development and Associate Artistic Director from 2017-2021 at the Shaw Festival. www.katehennig.com Tim has appeared in more than 35 productions at the Stratford Festival and played leading roles at major theatres throughout North America. Most recently, he originated the role of James Piper in the stage adaptation of Ann-Marie Macdonald’s Fall On Your Knees (Canadian Stage/NAC/Neptune/Grand.) Recent film and television credits include Fellow Travellers (Showtime), Under the Banner of Heaven(FX/Hulu) and the feature film You Can Live Forever (Prospector Films.)
