The Department of History will be welcoming Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Tadek Wojtych (History, Western) as the speaker for the first Research Seminar Series of 2024-2025! Dr. Wojtych's presentation titled 'Reconciliation and History Textbooks: Lessons from Europe and Canada' will be held on September 19th, 2024.
Dr. Wojtych's presentation will analyze how history textbooks in Canada and in Europe forge the image of “the Other”, and traces how these images have (not) been evolving in line with the work of reconciliation commissions (Canadian TRC, Polish-German Textbook Commission).
