Multimodal data collection and analysis of passive and active data from smartphones to study human behavior and social habits
The IoT world is emerging as the new frontier for data collection to study human and social behavior providing more precise research questions and with more accurate data collected. Space (physical and social) and time are embedded in the detected events. With IoT researchers know more accurately the phenomena under investigation while being able to move from the micro to the macro seamlessly. I will present research we conducted with a specific app we developed called iLog, to discuss the great potential, and limitations of the use of smartphones in the study of human and social behavior.
