A decade as a consulting economist: from municipalities to banking

Using both a “telescope and microscope” approach to consulting, this talk presents a profile of four mini cases overseen by Mr. Abdool as a Lead Consultant. First, is an Ontario municipality’s consideration to create its own Venture Development Corporation, next a Caribbean financial institution’s conversion from a member-owned institution to a commercial bank, then a community-led effort to establish Islamic finance in Canada, and finally the economic feasibility of a private orthopedic clinic under Ontario’s new Bill 60 framework.
