Poster for history seminar entitled

The History Department is welcoming Dr. Mary-Ann Shantz as it's fifth Research Seminar Series speaker.

Dr. Shantz is an independent Historian who's talk will focus on various questions regarding nudism in Canada. How do we understand the nudist movement in historical context? How does studying nudism deepen our understanding of Canadian society from the 1940s through the 1970s?

Shantz's talk will discuss how this unconventional movement opens up new perspectives on the postwar period, and reflect on her experience researching a topic that had her looking for sources outside the traditional archive.

This event will be taking place via Zoom.
