Therapist-assisted internet-delivered CBT: Optimizing implementation in routine care

Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos
Department of Psychology, University of Saskatchewan

December 9, from 3-4pm
Delivered on Zoom

Internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (ICBT) has been found effective for various mental health problems ( e.g., depression, generalized anxiety, alcohol problems) but many questions remain about how to optimize patient engagement, outcomes and implementation in clinical practice.
In this presentation, micro-learning health system research designed to optimize the reach, effectiveness, and implementation of ICBT in practice will be shared with specific attention to questions related to the amount and nature of therapist support. The objective of this seminar is to broadly increase knowledge of ICBT and its potential for expanding access to effective mental health care.

Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos is a Professor of Psychology and leads the Wellbeing Innovation Lab at the University of Regina. She is also Founder and Executive Director of the Online Therapy Unit, which has been delivering and optimizing Internetdelivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Saskatchewan since 2010, and Founder and Director of the Public Safety Personnel Internetdelivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) team responsible for delivering and evaluating Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for public safety personnel across Canada. Dr. Hadjistavropoulos is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, and has been recognized by Digital Health Canada as a female visionary harnessing the power of information technology to transform health and healthcare in Canada.
