Ecosystem connectivity and ecology of fishes: insights from migrations and trophic ecology of Northern Pike, Arctic Grayling, and Lake Trout
Heidi is an Assistant Professor and University Research Chair at University of Waterloo. Her research interests and expertise lie in northern fish ecology and life history, tracing fish migrations, and contaminant accumulation. Heidi has spent the last 10 years conducting ecological and ecotoxicological research in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Alaska, and Far North of Ontario. She combines analyses of stable isotopes, fatty acids, otolith chemistry, and contaminant concentrations to better understand ecology of fishes and northern aquatic ecosystems, and she collaborates frequently with industry, Aboriginal groups, and government.
