McKellar Room
The Gairdner Foundation is dedicated to recognizing major research contributions to the treatment of disease and alleviation of human suffering.
Through the annual prestigious Canada Gairdner Awards, the Gairdner Foundation celebrates the world’s most creative and accomplished researchers whose work is improving the health and well-being of people around the world.
The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is partnered with The Gairdner Foundation (through the student outreach program) in hopes to showcase the value of scientific achievement and inspire generations to be engaged citizens and future leaders in science.
This year, Schulich Medicine is hosting speaker and Gairdner award winner Peter Greenberg who is providing the key note on discoveries of how bacteria communicate with each other and surrounding non-bacterial cells. In addition to this, he will speak to great things you can do with a career in science, in hopes of peaking the interest of high school students/future researchers.
