Dr. Slavik is a Banting Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oregon’s Center for Science Communication Research, and a Research Associate at the Occupational Cancer Research Centre based at Ontario Health (formerly Cancer Care Ontario). She investigates environmental and occupational determinants of health and develops cross-cutting and transdisciplinary tools for risk communication and education. Dr. Slavik is passionate about increasing awareness around environmental health risks and promoting changes to behaviour that reduce people’s exposures to environmental hazards. She received her PhD in Health Geography from McMaster University and her Master’s of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Toronto.
