Time:
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Location:
Zoom

This session surveys how researchers use news sources, which offer varying perspectives on current affairs at the local level and on a global scale.

Finding these sources can be tricky as some are only available in print form or on microfilm, but many are searchable in both open access and subscription databases. Learn how to search for both contemporary and historical news sources in libraries, archives, and online.

After this workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify the potential and limitations of news sources as primary sources
  • Incorporate news sources into your teaching and research
  • Develop strategies for finding and evaluating news sources
