Who pays for Open Access?
Room: 121, Centre for Teaching & Learning
Open access to academic articles and research data is rapidly becoming the norm, not the exception. While open access makes research freely available to read, it is not free to produce. In this session, participants will explore the landscape of open publishing and who pays for open access. Topics include options for open publishing, predatory journals, and article processing charges.
Session Outcomes:
- Learn about different open access platforms and the associated costs
- Identify and avoid predatory publishing tactics
- Use Sherpa/Romeo to find permissions for self-archiving
