Session 1 - Osler BizBasics - "Demystifying Business Law"

Western has teamed up with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP to put on this series, which aims to teach fundamental business skills to law students who would like to explore a career in corporate law.

This particular session, entitled "Demystifying Business Law", is aimed at law students who may not understand clearly what a business law career looks like, or even those who are trying to decide between taking corporate law or ethics in first year.  This session will shed light on what a business law practice or typical life in the day of a business law lawyer looks like, in addition to what one can expect at a summer or articling student at a business law firm.

Panelists:
Masoud Tasharofi - Associate, Tax JD'14
Trevor Kirsh - Associate, Corporate JD'14
Lipi Mishra - Associate, Litigation
Michael Shakra - Associate, Insolvency & Restructuring JD'12
Jake Schmidt - Articling Student, JD'18

RSVP on Western's Law Symplicity website under "Career Events" tab.  A light lunch will be provided and a networking session with the lawyers taking part in the panel will take place after the event in the upper level student lounge - all are welcome to attend.

Thank you to Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP for their generous support of this series.
