Cultural Humility Primer: An Interactive Workshop
DATE: Wednesday, February 24, 2021
TIME: 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Zoom
Dr. Shalini Nag, President and People Strategist at EvidaSolve, will be speaking next Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. with a talk entitled Cultural Humility Primer: An Interactive Workshop.
About the Talk
In an increasingly divided world, discrimination, equity, and inclusion have emerged as critical conversations not just in communities but in organizations, academic and otherwise. Understanding how to recognize and value differences is critical to building an inclusive environment and can be a superpower in the professional arena.
In this interactive workshop we will explore:
- Danger of a single story – distinguishing prototypes, stereotypes, and archetypes
- The 9 dimensions of personal identity and how it impacts our interactions
- From apathy to holding space – how we connect with others
This workshop is interactive, introspective and engaging. Participants are requested to be on camera and be present so they can engage in discussion, and ask questions that are on their minds. This session is NOT recorded so we can create and maintain a safe space for open conversation.

The series was developed for Master's students, doctoral students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty and staff. The monthly Zoom events showcase guest speakers who share valuable insight and expertise on critical aspects of leadership from their own career experiences both inside and outside of academia. The Series runs from September to March (except December) and each event is held on the last Wednesday of every month.
