Attention 4th Year Students in English and Writing Studies programs!

Are you planning to apply to an MA in English or an MA/MFA in Creative Writing at a Canadian university? If so, you may be eligible to apply for a Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-M). This is a prestigious one-year scholarship worth $17,500. To be eligible, you must have an overall average of 80% in each of the past two years of your university career and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

To help you out with the challenges of grant-writing, the Department of English and Writing Studies will be holding a workshop to go over the application, talk about the proposal-writing process, and answer your questions. Dr Anne Schuurman, Chair of Undergraduate Studies in English, will lead this session, with help from Dr James Purkis, Graduate Chair, and Leanne Trask, Graduate Coordinator.

CGS-M applications are due December 1 by 8 pm.

If you would like to attend this Zoom session, please RSVP to leanne.trask@uwo.ca by 8:30 am on the day of the meeting to receive your Zoom link. We will also be recording this session, so if you're not able to attend on the day, you can contact Leanne afterwards for the link to view it on your own schedule.
