"Introduction to Bayesian Statistics for Educational Researchers" with Dr. Daniel Ansari

Wednesday, November 25, 2020; 10:00 - 11:30 am

Bayesian statistics provide an alternative to traditional frequentist statistics (e.g. the use of p-values). Bayesian statistics are well suited to quantifying evidence for a particular hypothesis (including the null hypothesis) and are very well-suited to sequential designs (where you analyze the data as they come in). In this talk Dr. Ansari will provide a basic introduction to Bayesian statistics and then show how it can be used to address a variety of research questions that educational researchers may have. As part of this talk he will provide a brief introduction to JASP, a free statistical program that can be used to conduct Bayesian Statistics.
