Join the Department of Oncology for Dr. Richard B. Kim MD, FRCPC, presentation "Pharmacogenomics and Oncology: Where are we headed," hosted by the Division of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Kim's presentation will:
- Discuss the impact of common single nucleotide variations (SNVs) in pharmacogenes that may help with dosing and selection of pain/nausea/mood medications;
- Demonstrate new data that shows that rare SNVs of portential clinical relevance, particularly when determined bu gene sequencing are often detected;
- Review our new strategy of near real-time DPYD exome sequencing coupled to in silico and in vitro technologies for a more accurate prediction 5-FU/capecitabine toxicity risk in patients.
