Oncology Grand Rounds: Dr. Michael Sanatani

Join the Department of Oncology for Dr. Michael Sanatani's presentation "Is Paternalism really passé? Examining what we bring to the table in 'shared' decision-making," hosted by Dr. Stephen Welch, Division of Medical Oncology.

Dr. Sanatani's presentation will:

• Describe models of descision making and situate shared descision making on a continuum between paternalisma and informational descision support.
• Consider a deliberative descision making paradigm for oncology treatment decisions, list oncologist related cognitive and emotional factors which may influence descisional outcome
• Describe how developing formal descision making support curricula for residence might simultaneously serve as an oncology quality improvement initiative.
