Library Speaker Series: Neglected Voices: Non-Canonical Philosophers through History, Presented by the Department of Philosophy.

Hypatia of Alexandria: Fact & Fiction: Hypatia is a beguiling figure in western intellectual history. A woman, famous as a mathematician and philosopher in a patriarchal age, martyred in 415 CE by a gang of Christian monks, she has, over the centuries, attracted treatment by fanciful novelists and pamphleteers, storytellers and filmmakers. We try to separate fact from fiction.
