The Alan C. Burton Lecture

Join us on March 15, 2023, for the annual Alan. C Burton Lecture featuring guest speaker Dr. Anita Layton. Held in a hybrid format in MSB 146 and on Zoom.

Dr. Anita Layton is the Canada 150 Research Chair in Mathematical Biology and Medicine at the University of Waterloo; Professor of Applied Mathematics, Pharmacy, and Biology; and Associate Dean of Research and International of the Faculty of Mathematics. She chairs the Research Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council at Waterloo. Anita received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 2001. Primarily, her lab collaborates with physiologists and clinicians to formulate detailed computational models of kidney function and metabolism. She is particularly interested in modeling sex differences in physiological systems, as well as the functional impacts of other individual differences.
