The 2023 Canham Fall Lecture

You are invited to join us for the annual Canham Fall Lecture on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 at 2:00pm. We’re excited to offer this years lecture in a hybrid format, with our guest lecturer Dr. Eno Hysi joining us in person in The Keeley Lecture Hall (DSB 1002), with a zoom option for those who wish to join remotely. 

Dr. Eno Hysi is a Staff Scientist at the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science at St. Michael’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. A biomedical physicist by training, Dr. Hysi received his PhD from the Department of Physics at the Toronto Metropolitan University, graduating with two Gold Medals in 2020. Following his doctoral training, Dr. Hysi was recruited to St. Michael’s Hospital’s Division of Nephrology as a CIHR Banting and a Kidney Foundation of Canada KRESCENT Fellow. A recipient of many awards, Dr. Hysi’s research in photoacoustics was recently recognized with a Polanyi Prize in Physics. As of January 2023, Dr. Hysi directs the Translational Ultrasound and Photoacoustic Imaging Laboratory (TUPIL) at St. Michael’s Hospital focusing on how physics and engineering concepts can facilitate the clinical translation of these modalities.
