Innovation Ambassadors Showcase

The Innovation Ambassadors speaker series provides an opportunity to see what research and innovations are coming from various areas of the university. See what your colleagues are working on and how you can engage in the innovation ecosystem here at Western and in the local community.

The speaker series will feature faculty members from across campus and special guest panelists from industry.

Description

Our next Innovation Ambassadors webinar event will take place December 1st at 12pm and will feature Chris Brenzel, Senior Director, Business Development/Gene Editing Solutions at Hera BioLabs, and Dr. Matthew Hebb, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Western. They will be presenting on a collaborative industry-academic development of a patient-derived xenograft SRG immunodeficient rat model of human glioblastoma brain cancer for pre-clinical evaluation of therapeutics including the novel treatment paradigm Intratumoral Modulation Therapy (IMT).

This month's speakers are:

Matthew Hebb

Dr. Hebb is currently leading a working group in Glioblastoma. This is a new research initiative lead by Dr. Hebb and Dr John Ronald to establish an investigator network from Western University, Robarts Research Institute, LHRI and external academic centres in the pursuit of collaborative pilot studies.

Chris Brenzel

Chris has been with Hera BioLabs since its inception in 2015. He has extensive experience in scientific business development, market research, and licensing for startups and fast-growing technology-based contract research organizations.
