Feeling emotions is a normal part of our everyday lives. We can't stop having emotions (nor would we want to), but we can choose how to respond to our thoughts and feelings in ways that work for us rather than against us. Emotion regulation involves skills that we can learn and develop to increase our awareness of our emotions and to effectively manage and respond to emotional situations. By participating in this workshop, you will: 

  • Build emotional awareness by identifying, describing, and understanding emotions 
  • Differentiate between helpful and unhelpful emotions 
  • Be introduced to different emotion regulation strategies before, during, and in response to an emotional situation
