Sarah Munro The Longest Way Round, Is The Shortest Way Home

 May 12-20th 2017, Opening Reception: Friday, May 12th> 7-10PM

In collaboration with the Department of Visual Arts, Western University, SATELLiTE Project Space is proud to present Sarah Munro’s MFA thesis exhibition, The Longest Way Round, is the Shortest Way Home. On display from May 12-20th 2017, this exhibition of new work demonstrates Munro’s unique interdisciplinary approach to art making that includes collage, sculpture and installation. After eleven years of travel and study, this semi-autobiographical body of work is influenced by a return to her hometown to pursue her MFA at Western University in London, Ontario. Munro’s practice is inspired by interior design methodologies and taste culture combined with the aesthetics of the home she grew up in, and the new adult homes of childhood friends. This conceptual exploration of home décor and design elements of daily life examines visual identities of a culture or era though colours, objects and ornaments.
