What the World Needs Now is... Emotional Intelligence

April 26, 2018
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We pride ourselves in being earth’s smartest inhabitants.  Why then does mistrust, anger, and aggression seem to trump compassion, empathy and caring for ourselves, others, and our world? Psychological studies of emotional intelligence may provide some important clues and even answers.

Don Saklofske is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Western.  His research focuses on personality, intelligence... and both the 'dark and bright sides' of human behaviour including emotional intelligence.  He has published some 300 articles, chapters and books.

Part of the “Psychology: The Science of Being Human” Lecture series. The 2018 lecture series theme is ‘Personality Matters in the Real World’
