Body Acceptance Lecture

Friday, March 9, 2018
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Western Student Services Building (WSS)
Room: 3134

This lecture aims to deconstruct the notion of the “ideal” body by mapping its change across history, culture, and society. The talk will outline strategies to identify contemporary social ideals, values, and attitudes that drive body dissatisfaction, diet culture, and fat shaming, as well as provide tools to critically evaluate and combat these ideals to move toward a self-accepting approach to your body. Participants are invited to bring a lunch or snack of their choice, if desired.
