Please join Dr. Tom Freeman and colleagues for an afternoon discussing “Symptoms in Family Practice: New Findings using EMR Data,” supported by the Citywide Department of Family Practice, the Department of Family Medicine and the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine. 

The afternoon will include presentations from representatives of Radboud University, Netherlands on:

  • Medically Unexplained Symptoms’ and
  • Depression and Depressive Symptoms’ as well as
  • The coding of symptoms in ICPC’

Representatives from Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University will lead the remainder of the day on:

  • Symptoms and symptom pathways in Canada: Data from the SMART study in Southwestern Ontario - Dr. Tom Freeman
  • Demonstration of the SMART study handbook - Dr. Dan Leger

The day will wrap up with a discussion of ‘Future steps in practice and research’ and a brief reception.
