Western welcomes the Junges Vokalensemble Hannover and their conductor, Prof. Klaus-Jürgen Etzold, from Germany for a choral concert masterclass. This concert is a culmination of a three-day residency as part of a UNESCO City of Music exchange; a small group of conducting students will work with the visiting choir in rehearsal and then conduct them for this final concert.

About Junges Vokalensemble Hannover:

Founded by its artistic director Prof. Klaus-Jürgen Etzold, the multi-award winning professional choir, Junges Vokalensemble Hannover, performs a wide range of a cappella work. In addition to sacred and secular a cappella music from the 15th century until today, the choir performs cantatas, masses, oratorios, and passions. The choir has recorded sixteen CDs and performed several world premieres of contemporary compositions, including pieces by Büsing, Dinescu, Fuchs, Wangenheim, Świder, Sixten, Penderecki and Banter.
