Young Artists Pre-College Academy, the Royal Conservatory of Music and Western’s Don Wright Faculty of Music welcome Mimi Zweig to London for a residency on October 12. 

Ms. Zweig will present two free, public classes:

  • Pedagogy seminar and workshop (all instruments): 1:30-3:30pm, Music Building Room 254, Western University
  • YAPCA Masterclass: 6:30-8:30pm, First St. Andrew’s Church, 350 Queens Ave

We invite and welcome everyone to join us in celebrating this rare opportunity in hearing one of North America’s leading pedagogues.

 The masterclass repertoire will include:

  • J.C. Bach Viola Concerto in C minor, 1stmovement
  • Wieniawski D minor Concerto, 1stmovement
  • Tchaikovsky Concerto, excerpt from 1st movement
  • Barber Concerto, 1stmovement

Mimi Zweig is currently Professor of Violin at the Jacobs School of Music and Director of the Indiana University String Academy. Since 1972 she has developed pre-college string programs across the United States and has been a faculty member at the Jacobs School of Music since 1976. She has given master classes and pedagogy workshops throughout the world. In 2019 Mimi Zweig was the recipient of the ASTA Artist Teacher Award. Her students have won numerous competitions and teach and perform worldwide.
