The Society of Graduate Students in Music at Western University is pleased to announce its 20th annual Graduate Symposium on Music (WUGSOM), August 16th–17th, 2019.

In its 20th year, WUGSOM features graduate student papers from across North America, ranging in topics from music theory, musicology, music education, ethnomusicology, composition, and performance. This year, Dr. Michael Klein (Temple University) will deliver the Keynote Address: Five Things (plus or minus 2) that Lacan teaches us about Musical Meaning.
