Opera at Western: The Turn Of The Screw

Britten’s The Turn of the Screw is of the most dramatically appealing of all English operas. Based on the Henry James novella of the same name, it has been performed throughout the world. Thematically the story gives a central role to a line borrowed from W. B. Yeats’ poem The Second Coming “The ceremony of innocence is drowned.” Music and dialogue in English.

Pre-purchased held tickets may be picked up in advance from the Grand Theatre Box Office, or at the venue beginning 45 min prior to the performance. Last-minute ticket sales (when available) can be purchased at the door approx. 45 minutes prior to the performance. All door sales are cash only and subject to an additional $5 per ticket.
