The Western University Symphony Orchestra’s repertoire is representative of works from the symphonic repertoire, opera, oratorio and contemporary compositions.

Program:
Edward Elgar - Serenade for Strings;
Dorothy Chang* - Mvt. A thousand sounds quieted from Along the River of Stars;
Aiden Hartery* (PhD Candidate): We sail west, to The Grand Bay
Jeff Smallman* - Air;
Percy Aldridge Grainger - Irish tune from County Derry (featuring special guests 25 high school strings players);
Dmitri Shostakovich - Cello Concerto in Eb Major, Op. 107 featuring soloist Daniel Dennis, cello.

Featured soloists were finalists in last year's Maritsa Brookes Concerto Competition held in January 2017. Learn more about the Competition.
