Celebrating International Week at Western! Join us for one of two performances today by the dynamic Percussion Ensemble.

Two performances (same program) on November 25: 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Enjoy an international theme for these concerts with programming to include Taiko from Japan (via an American composer), a stop in Baroque Italy with Vivaldi, a piece by Mexican composer Carolo Chavez that was commissioned by Clare Boothe Luce, down under to Australia with Peter Sculthorpe’s Jabiru Dreaming which was a gift to France based on 3 aboriginal melodies that were collected by a member of a French exploratory expedition in 1802. The concert ends with the well-known piece Spain by Chick Corea.

The Western University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Jill Ball, is a dynamic performing group presenting concerts both on campus and off.
