Attention Indigenous Students!

Hi, my name is Eli and I am a second year Masters student in Westerns’ History Department. My research is concerned with the evolution of Hollywood’s representations of Indigenous peoples in film through a 50 year period that witnessed Indigenous civil rights movements, ethnic renewal, and decolonization. I come from a town called Quispamsis in New Brunswick, which is Maliseet for “little lake,” and I completed my Bachelors of Arts in History at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. My role with the Indigenous Student Centre is as a tutor, and I look forward to supporting Indigenous students in their academic pursuits! In my free time I like to cook, garden, and relaxing with a good book! Contact or drop in to see Eli at his office hours.

Western is committed to accessibility for persons with disabilities.  Please contact us in advance if you have any particular accommodation requirements.  – Ashley Kewayosh Samuel, Indigenous Student Centre Staff, 519-661-2111 ex. 85731,
