The Indigenous Writing and Wellness Workshop is a joint initiative of SAGE, SOGS, the IDI in Applied Indigenous Scholarship, and the Writing Support Centre, designed to provide Indigenous students at Western with dedicated time and space for intensive writing, personal growth and participation of specific topics delivered by guest speakers and workshop presenters, and an opportunity to establish relationships with others around you.

The objective is to support you in writing for your dissertation or course-related papers, gain knowledge and skills about topics delivered by guest speakers and workshop presenters, and to build relationships with people on the same academic journey as you.

The location of the event from April 15 to 17 will be held at the Chu Centre in the International & Graduate Affairs Building. The last day on April 18 will be held at the Western Student Services Building in Room 3134. Lunch, break foods, and beverages will be provided daily.

Indigenous students at Western engaged in writing for their dissertation or course-related papers, and who are able to commit to attend full days are invited to register. Limited spaces are available with reserved spaces specifically allocated for graduate, and undergraduate students – please indicate your interest in attending any or all of the days by emailing Joette Lefebvre at jchookom@uwo.ca.

Western is committed to accessibility for persons with disabilities.  Please contact us in advance if you have any particular accommodation requirements. – Joette Lefebvre jchookom@uwo.ca
