“Policy research in education: Methodological questions and conversations”

Dr. Radhika Gorur (Deakin University), Dr. Sue Winton (York University), and Dr. Melody Viczko (Western University)

Researching policy in education can provide insights to how policy texts and practices influence what we do in education. But making decisions about which research methodologies and methods to employ in policy research can be overwhelming. Where to start? What kinds of questions can policy researchers explore?

Drawing on their own research, Drs. Gorur, Winton and Viczko will lead a conversation about the ways in which they use different methodologies and methods in research to examine policy actors and influences. This session will be in a workshop format and the presenters will engage discussion with those present about both the challenges and possibilities of doing policy research in education. Please bring your questions about policy research in education to the discussion.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to by March 29, 2018 if you would like to attend.
