Abstract:
Compiling a global map of a world is an essential step in organizing our knowledge of it, and going on to understand its geology. This talk will look at the history of work on the problem of mapping irregularly-shaped objects, and finish by considering how to map the bizarre nucleus of comet 67P Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
