Theatre L’On Donne presents: L’Oratorio de Noel by Michel Tremblay
March 9-12 2016, McManus Theatre (at the Grand Theatre) 471 Richmond St., London

Noel is a renowned neurosurgeon who suffers from a degenerative brain condition. In his hospital room, he is visited by his ex-wife Jacqueline, his son Jean-Sébastien and his daughter Isabelle. Dementia is slowly clouding Noel’s mind. There are now three incarnations of each member of the family on stage, recognisable by their ages: his ex-wife at 20, 40 and 59 years old, his son at 15, 25 and 40 years old, and his daughter at 17, 25 and 38 years old. Noel attempts to untangle mad fiction from what is really happening. The play seems to turn into a trial as his family becomes a chorus of unending recriminations that Noel can’t manage to quiet down. The silence is never more deafening than when Noel alone must face the inevitable: forgetting what he once was.

All welcome!
